Popular Athletic Shoe Reviews

Hey, y'all!

Recently on IG stories, we have been chatting about popular athletic shoe brands. I am always looking for supportive but cute shoes to wear to work. For my job I take care of my cousin that is special needs. So I am constantly lifting her and carrying her around the house. Lifting 70lbs all day definitely calls for supportive shoes to protect my knees and back. The most recommended brands from you all have been Brooks and OnClouds. So today I am going to give my unfiltered review of both of these brands, as well as the Nike Renew and my favorite Adidas!

Brooks Levitate

I have the Brooks Levitate and I wear them to work and to run in! The support in these shoes is excellent. I get shin splints easy if I'm not wearing the right shoe to run in, and these have never lead to them! They have excellent arch support which is good if you are like me and the middle of your foot doesn't touch the ground. When I wear these all day, I don't have any sorness in my knees or back.

Nike Renew

These Nike Renews were a major influenced purchase. I have seen them all over IG and Pinterest and I think they are super cute! Many large influencers have claimed they are the best shoes for working out in. Im here to say... they are not. My first complaint about these shoes is the sizing. Normally I wear a size 7.5 in sneakers, and that's what I ordered in these. The fit is incredibly narrow, so even with my arches been so high the shoe is too tight. They are also too small length wise so it causes major pressure on the tops of my feet. The style of the bottom of the shoe causes you to walk more on the arches of your feet which isn't ideal for long work days on your feet.

Adidas Lux

The pair of Adidas lux I have are the original pair and I bought them in college because I was obsessed with the chunky laces. I always think they look like bows! I have had these for 4 years and they are still one of my favorite pairs! The material of the top of the shoe is similar to a sock so it fits the top of your foot comfortably and doesn't put any pressure on your toes. I love the support of these and I can wear them to work without any issues. These are the perfect pair to wear with athleisure or to wear to work. I don't typically wear these for walking or running just because these have a more flat sole which leads to shin splints for me.

The most requested review I saved for last!

OnClouds: Cloudflow Running

When I shared that I purchased these OnCloud Cloudflow running shoes from the Nsale, my dms were flooded with messages of praise for these shoes! You all said these are your favorite to wear for being on your feet all day. Once I got mine I wore them to work and I found them super comfy. The first time I wore them on a walk I noticed that the bottoms of my feet were rubbing with the sole of the shoes. This was because the laces are really thin which makes it hard to tie the shoe tight to your foot.

Chris and I both wore our OnClouds for moving into our house. By the end of the day both of us had lower back pain and heel pain from being on our feet. By that night my feet and knees were so swollen. The bottoms of these shoes have a lot of bounce to them which created pressure on our heels and balls of our feet.

So if you are up on your feet all day, these are not the shoes to wear. For me personally, these are going to be shoes that I wear more for looks instead of true support.
